With a sunny and windy Saturday in its rearview mirror, the Laredo College Car Show rode off into the sunset.
In the morning, participants drove through the LC South Campus front parking lot on April 12, setting up for a day filled with community spirit and camaraderie among various car clubs and aficionados. Throughout the event, LC judges inspected a diverse array of sports cars, hot rods, lowriders, motorcycles and custom bikes, preparing for the competition.
While the judging continued, families and children gathered at The Hill to decorate and fly kites, sending them soaring sky-high together. The rich blue sky was then marked with colorful kites as children ran through the field with them trailing behind.
As the morning warmed up, participants sought shade in tents near the LC student organization booths. Here, students fundraised to help benefit their organization as they offered cooling lemonades and some melted cheese to go along with their Frito pie.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony, where participants gathered to hear the results and celebrate each announcement with cheers. We hope the community will return for our traditional car show next year.
